Brie Code makes video games with people who don’t play videogames.
Brie is the founder of Tru Luv Media, a studio that is making a series of short video games co-designed with people who don’t like video games. Previously, Brie had worked at Ubisoft Montreal where she launched a diversity initiative and led the programming team on Child of Light–a softer, more ethereal game that was a departure from Ubisoft Montreal’s usual focus on AAA games. Brie herself had previously worked in AAA for 10 years, leading AI programming teams on Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed II, as well as writing code at Relic Entertainment for the RTS games Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War. Brie thinks diverse teams make less boring games. Brie’s favourite game as a child was The Colonel’s Bequest.
Games Brie worked on: Child of Light, Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed II, Company of Heroes, Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War.
